Alert passerby films mice in Leuven KFC branch: "I won't set foot in there again"
An alert passerby made a strange discovery at the Leuven KFC branch on Saturday evening. Five mice were running around the fast-food restaurant. Nico (16) was able to quickly capture the rodents on camera. "I've eaten there before, but I won't be setting foot in there again," he says.
Sixteen-year-old Nico made a rather unpleasant observation at KFC Leuven. Around 1 a.m., the young man was walking with some friends toward the Oude Markt. "We passed the fast-food restaurant and suddenly saw at least five mice running around on the chairs and benches," says Nico. "I was able to quickly capture everything on camera."
"This is absolutely unacceptable. I organize events myself and know how important hygiene is. Apparently, it's not a high priority at KFC. I've eaten there before, but I won't be setting foot in there again," says the young man.
Measures
KFC also saw Nico's footage. "We immediately took the necessary measures," says Sally Herygers of Benelux Food Group. "Hygiene in our restaurants is paramount. The necessary parties to eliminate the problem have been contacted. We are also conducting a thorough investigation to ensure this absolutely does not happen again."
